Activated charcoal can be used to treat injuries, stroke and coronavirus

An article features collaborative Rice research into artificial enzymes made of treated charcoal that could have the power to curtail damaging levels of superoxides, radical oxygen ions that are toxic at high concentrations. James Tour, the T.T. and W.F. Chao Chair in Chemistry and a professor of computer science and of materials science and nanoengineering, is quoted.
