Chapter 08: Where Life Began

Some scientists believe
that life began when a high energy
reaction between water, minerals,
and gas formed molecules
to support life itself
and these molecules became the first cells
Some scientists believe
but I keep asking ‘cos

I’ve got to find out
so I can decide how
life begins
I think and
therefore I am
but just because I can
don’t mean I’ll stop where life began
where life began

Cyanobacteria
were the cells that worked with sunlight first
through photosynthesis
they introduced oxygen to the Earth
prokaryotes were the first cells,
but oh, they had no nucleus
eukaryotes are those
with nuclei and now I know why

I’ve got to find out
so I can decide how
life begins
I think and
therefore I am
but just because I can
don’t mean I’ll stop where life began
where life began

…but I keep asking ‘cos [offset overlappinghttp://brambarker.com/">Bram Barker
