Chapter 03: My Answers

A mineral is a naturally formed solid
It’s inorganic and it isn’t a gas or a liquid
It has a crystalline structure
which means it’s repeated
Minerals are made of one or two types of elements
The earth’s crust has about ninety-two of them

And my answers are buried under the ground
All the answers I have found
(x2)

Each element is made of only one kind of atom
An atom is the smallest part of an element that
has all the element’s properties – you heard what I said
A compound is made up of two or more elements

And my answers are buried under the ground
All the answers I have found
(x2)

Silicate minerals include silicon and oxygen
The earth’s crust is made up of ninety percent silicate
The hardness scale for minerals ranges from one to ten
Talc is one and diamond you’ll find right up the other end

(Yeah diamond is a number ten
that’s why it’s a girl’s best friend)

And my answers are buried under the ground
All the answers I have found
(x2)
